1. Be thankful for the work that you do.
You may not have the job or business that you were hoping for. At least, not yet. But could it be that God is still preparing you?
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
2. Be constructive, and don't be a "complainer."
We are all in the business (or jobs) of solving problems. Instead, always think or offer, "How can I help?"
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. – Matthew 5:16
3. Work as if it was "God's business."
• Arrive on time for work. If you can't be on time, be 10 minutes early. Time and effort translate into results. Be faithful with how you spend every minute or every resource.
• Unless you were hired as a social media manager, limit your social media use during work hours. Focus on the work at hand. See Pr. 28:19
• When God examines your resume, you want him to read "faithful even with the little." That automatically qualifies you to a promotion.
4. Respect your bosses, that is grace at work.
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear – Ephesians 4:29
5. Always be fair, if not, be generous.
Be ready to give more than what is required. See: Proverbs 11:1
6. Maintain healthy relationships with the opposite sex.
Be careful, be considerate and be respectful. See: 1 Cor 7:2
7. Choose to do what is right, over what is the popular.
Live and practice what you've learned from the bible.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Rom 12:2
8. Develop your skill-set.
Prepare, because God will open bigger doors for you.
Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men – Proverbs 22:29
9. Extend the opportunities to others.
You are blessed, so be a blessing. And then, later on, you might just see them bless others as well.
Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that hey may have something to share with anyone in need. – Ephesians 4:28
10. Share the Gospel.
As they see how you live, tell others about the amazing things the LORD has done for you!
10 WAYS TO HONOR GOD AT WORK
37 Lessons I've Learned So Far
Original: Nov 28, 2013
Updated: Nov 28, 2015
Here are 37 lessons I've learned so far:
27. Start small, get better. It's the series of progress the you accumulate over time that leads to breakthroughs.
28. Everybody wants more time and money, but not everyone knows what to do with it when they get it.
29. Always be on time. If not, be early.
30. Plan and then Do. Most people get stuck with planning.
31. We can wait out of fear or out of faith. If we wait, even when we know it's time to act, then maybe we are just afraid to fail. But if we wait, convinced and trust that God will be the first to move, then our wait will not be vain.
32. You are where you are for a reason. Don't try to go on your own, let the Lord direct your steps.
33. The target is always moving. Don't ever think you've "nailed" it.
34. Preach what you practice.
35. Try to say "I'm sorry, I was wrong" more often. You'll skip the parts you might just regret.
36. Don't ever believe that you're not in any position to help. It may be little, but there's always something that you can do.

Beating the Competition!
Many business leaders today equate "winning" to beating the competition. The focus shifts from the customer to dominating the market. The most important person (the customer) becomes a number or a statistic. While employees get exhausted for chasing after unreasonable quotas.

3 WAYS TO BE POSITIVELY UNFORGETTABLE
1. Do something epic.
An unforgettable leader will do the opposite, he makes himself relatable. Through his work, he makes the people around him feel good about themselves.

7 STEPS TO A SIMPLE BUSINESS PLAN
"What business should I put up?" That's usually the question.
Richard Branson, serial entrepreneur and founder of Virgin Group (400 companies worldwide) says "Business opportunities are like buses, there's always another one coming."
That's true. But for starters, you don't need to be like Mr. Branson. Yes, there are many opportunities around you, but not all will be good or suitable for you. To be effective, you'll need to filter or figure out which one to pursue.

BE AN EXTRAORDINARY PINOY
Pinoys are masters when it comes to blending in or pakikibagay.
We can easily conform and go with the flow. We are careful not to make a scene. To be called as 'one of the guys' will always be counted as a compliment. If needed, we will even exert an extra effort not to be seen as 'different'.
We try not to stand out because we are afraid to be misunderstood.
You will notice this in simple conversations. When someone compliments a person, “ang galing mo naman,” the initial response would be, “hindi naman... nahirapan nga ako eh." Instead of just saying “Thank you”, we try to be modest.
Or maybe you've had this conversation with your friend...
Friend: "Huy, ang ganda naman ng shirt mo."
You: "Divi lang yan."
Friend: "Ows?"
You: "Oo no, inutang ko lang nga yan eh!"
She didn't ask where you bought it! But somehow, you answered this way because you don't want her to think it's expensive or that you've spent for yourself.
It's the same with our work. We don't want the people around us to think that we are too good or too competitive. We'd rather wait for a go signal than take initiative because we don't want to be labeled as 'bibo'. So, we stick to the predictable. We avoid being a stand out. We conform and do only what's expected or required.
There's nothing wrong with being extraordinary.
The difference between the ordinary and extraordinary is the word 'extra'. It's through these 'extras' that you're able to contribute – uniquely. It's how you make an impact in the lives of others. It's what you bring to the table. It's what others can't offer, and only you can. It's how you differentiate yourself, in a good way.
Let your unique style add color to the big picture.
It's OK to be an extraordinary Pinoy. It's OK to stand out.

From Cagayan Valley to Silicon Valley : A Story of a Pinoy Billionaire
Diosdado "Dado" Banatao is a Pinoy billionaire who made a mark in the US tech industry.
He is so good in what he does, that in the past, Intel wanted to compete with his start-up company but couldn't. Intel had no other choice but to buy Dado's company. That was just one of his first ventures.
Today, his company, Tallwood Venture Capital, exclusively invests in entrepreneurs who are pursuing distinctive ideas that further develop semi-conductor related technologies.
Mr. Banatao also believes in giving back. He funds Filipino-American scholars in schools all over the US. On top of that, he also has a program where he sends UP professors to University of California Berkeley for a year to work with some of their brightest professors. It's his way of helping them generate new ideas or technologies that they can use back home.
Mr. Dado flies his own private jet once in a while. But that's only a perk that he enjoys today, out of his tenacity and passion for his work.
It takes years to build a company; it’s not an overnight success; there are no shortcuts. - Dado Banatao
What's admirable about this Pinoy is not the billions that his bank enjoys to hold for him. It's his vision and passion to pursue 'what could be' rather than just settling for 'what is'.
Dado Banatao is truly a PRODUCTIVE PINOY.

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER
That's why, "Do as I do" is more effective than 'Do as I say'.
READ BETWEEN THE LINES
What if, just like the MENTALIST, you are able to read between the lines? You easily figure out facts and problems, only 5 minutes in the scene.
Imagine what you can do with the same skill set? Use it in your business, in your work, or career. Use the same skill set when leading people.
How many customers will be happy to do business with you if you have the same intuition and problem solving skills? Your employer will promote you quicker than expected. People will flock to follow your leadership.
Though we can't live this fictional character, we can start learning from this guy.
Notice the small details...
Find out other people's motivation and intention...

Ningas Cogon: Finish What You Started
Maybe some of us have heard this scolding more than once. Hard headed kids grow up hearing these words almost everyday.
In case you’re unfamiliar with ‘Ningas Cogon’, it’s a term we use to describe a certain attitude. Cogon is a type of grass that's tall and thin. You will see it in large fields. Because of its thin and dry texture, it can easily catch fire and spread into wild fire. The thing is that… the fire burns out easily as well.
Ningas Cogon is the attitude when we start something with interest and enthusiasm, then after a very short time, we lose interest and stop whatever it is we are doing. Leaving things incomplete. Just like a wild fire burning out quickly.
Here are the Ten Things that I think we should finish or complete one way or the other:
(1) Projects that we started
If you ask me, I'd prefer to start one project that I can complete immediately than start with three left unfinished. Focus and attention management is key.
(2) Relationships to Mend
Pick up the phone. Send the letter. Visit the person. Do what you need to do now. Don't wait for the right time. It might not come.
(3) Debts to Pay
This will be unavoidable. So better face it today and get on with it.
(4) Unpublished Books, Blogs, Writing, Songs or Art work. Set a daily schedule when to work on these. Don't wait for inspiration. Sit down and start writing or creating. Take one step forward everyday until you reach completion.
(5) Sales to Close
Now that the client is interested to hear from you, go ahead and submit the proposal. Prepare the presentation. Throw your pitch. Close the sale.
(6) Books to Read
Tip: No read-No buy -- Remember this next time you go to a book store.
(7) Yearly or Quarterly Goals
If you don't know where you are headed, sit down for a cup of coffee. Write down your goals for the year or at least for the quarter. Take a look at your goals as frequent as possible to keep you on track.
(8) Savings and Budgets
Maybe last January you started a savings plan or a budget, but you are not living up to it. It’s not too late to implement your plan. You can start anytime of the year. You don’t need to wait for another “New year”.
(9) Going to the gym or losing weight
If you paid for the membership, either make use of what you paid for or discontinue your membership. There is no middle ground. If you decide to quit, find a sport or physical activity that you think you will be able to sustain for a looooong time.
(10) Education or MBA
Finish your education or find ways to continue learning. It shouldn't stop.
You know what they say -- It’s not how you start but how you finish!
QUIT TALKING AND BEGIN DOING – WALT DISNEY

Walter got it right from the start. He envisioned a world with "Disney" products or movies, then he created it. His imagination quotient (if there's such a thing) is 110/100. Whatever he dreamt, he was able to translate it into action.
Walter wasn't only creative, he was organized as well. According to his bio, he keeps a close tab when it comes to his copyright, he makes sure he has control in whatever he does. That's why even during the depression, Disney's studio flourished.
The same imagination and tenacity to act, he passed on to his successors.
No wonder even after Walt
That's not only vision, but action.
